
LOCATION
WHY MOUNTAIN FORK RESORT?
We love Broken Bow, Hochatown and Beaver’s Bend State Park, but our favorite spot in the area has always been the Mountain Fork River. If you talk with the locals many of them will say the most beautiful and desirable attraction of Broken Bow is the river.
When we realized there weren’t many good options for building cabins with access to the Mountain Fork River (the land was mostly unavailable) we set out to change that. After years of planning, Mountain Fork Resort is the result.
AMENITIES
All residents and guests will have access to multiple common points of entry to the river and the waterfront lots have their own private water frontage.
The development stretches along nearly one mile of river front and has various water features, including the deep and wide section of the river on the north end of the property, and the fast-moving rapids on the southern portion. Once you hear the sound of the rushing waters, you may never want to leave…
Residents and guests will also have access to a ~3,000 sqft community clubhouse with large swimming pool and lounging deck. From the back of the community center is a short walk down to MFR’s private pebble beach and hardwood forest sanctuary park.
MFR will also have a large playground, picnicking areas, pavilions, and private fishing docks for residents and guests.
FISHING
The Mountain Fork River is described as the most pristine whitewater stream in Oklahoma and widely considered one of the best trout fishing spots in the Southern US. The cool waters that flow from below Broken Bow Dam provide a year-round fishing for brown and rainbow trout.
MFR residents will have direct access to the river and can enjoy fishing right off their own private dock or using one of the resort’s common area docks, beaches, or ponds.
MFR is also a short 10-15 minute drive from the state park’s lower Mountain Fork fishing areas. This portion of the river is a fishing destination spot that anglers from all around the country come to fly fish.
The river is stocked with fish twice a month year-round. If you love fishing (we do!) then Mountain Fork Resort is where you want to be.
KAYAKING
Canoe road is just across Highway 70 from Mountain Fork Resort and from there you can access the best kayaking spot on the river in 10 minutes.
Drop your kayaks in at Presbyterian Falls and float down the river right back to your cabin or pull out at our private boat ramp at the resort!
This stretch of river has class 1 and class 2 rapids that make for an exhilarating and relaxing kayaking experience.
ENJOY NATURE WHILE AVOIDING THE TRAFFIC
With the increased popularity of Broken Bow as a vacation destination, the traffic and congestion on highway 259 in-and-out of Hochatown is something we increasingly try to avoid when visiting. At MFR residents can get access to the one of the most scenic and beautiful attractions of the area, while skipping the traffic.
MFR residents coming up from Texas can cut off ~20-30 minutes from their drive
heading into MFR versus fighting the traffic up highway 259 into Hochatown.
The resort is a secluded forested waterfront community that is still just 10 minutes from the grocery stores in downtown Broken Bow and 20 minutes from the state park.
When visiting Beavers Bend Park, we prefer to skip HWY 259 traffic all together and head straight north from the resort to the 259-loop using the scenic backroads.
SHORT TERM RENTALS
Renting out your cabin to visitors can be a rewarding and lucrative investment, but with competition heating up in the market, being in a development with top amenities and unique attractions is becoming increasingly important to stand out from the crowd.
